As an experienced human resources and inclusion professional, my career is anchored by a deep commitment to cultivating cultures of belonging that foster exceptional performance. I've learned firsthand that limiting inclusion deprives organizations and individuals of essential growth, innovation, and positive impact.
The contemporary world of work is undergoing a monumental cultural transformation, extending far beyond a mere digital shift. The strategic integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Human Intelligence (HI) is rapidly reshaping operational paradigms and talent engagement. I recognize that AI without a strong ethical framework poses significant risk; AI without a foundational culture becomes a disruptive force; and AI without diligent human oversight represents a critical liability. However, I also view AI as a powerful catalyst, unlocking unprecedented opportunities to foster understanding, unlimited operational benefits as well as a tool to effectively accommodate neurodivergent employees. This prepares our workforce for the reality that individuals who thrived with accommodations in academia continue to require thoughtful support in their professional lives, thereby paving the way for the next generation of high-performing teams.
My company, FD Paige Consultants, is named after my three children, all of whom are neurodivergent. Their unique journeys are a profound source of inspiration, illuminating how intentional inclusion can enrich lives and organizations. As I view the coming landscape of talent, many of whom are neurodivergent, like my children, as an HR professional, I feel it my responsibility to help prepare our organizations for how to see this talent as a strategic advantage. This personal insight evolved into a clear professional conviction: without deliberate assessment and tailored accommodations, companies risk attracting and retaining top talent, leading to a missed opportunity to innovate, increased turnover and unnecessary costs. My work is a heartfelt tribute to the invaluable lessons they've taught me about belonging, innovation, and the transformative power of empathy in building truly thriving organizational cultures – it's strategic and transformative.
